BOOK TOUR
In November I’m going out on tour for The First Cat in Space and the Wrath of the Paperclip, the third book in the First Cat in Space series.
Shawn and I try to make these events special. We perform the books to an orchestral score. We sing and play guitar (only Shawn plays guitar and honestly he also does the bulk of the singing). And if you come dressed as one of the characters from the book, we’ll give you a prize. Some people call these events a “360 degree theatrical spectacular” (nobody calls them that).
The tour is ticketed. (Tickets come with a book.) Grab yours now!
I’ll be going out on another tour at the end of November for a new picture book, Santa’s First Christmas, so if I’m not visiting your city on the First Cat tour, maybe I will on that one!
SPEAKING OF THE FIRST CAT IN SPACE
Shawn and I made some First Cat in Space school supplies—folders, pencils, and a pencil case. (By the way, there’s a whole First Cat in Space newsletter that’s just for First Cat stuff, if you’re interested.)
ODD QUESTION
Do you
live in the US
and
know many children who speak German and/or Italian
who
want a bunch of middle-grade novels?
Maybe you teach at a language immersion school? I don’t know! But for reasons somewhat mysterious to me I have a large number of the German edition of The Terrible Two books, like ten or more copies of each of the four titles in the series. And I have ten or so copies of the Italian edition of The Terrible Two Get Worse, the second book in the series. Yes, only book two. (It stands alone! You can start on the second book! I’ll even throw in a copy of the first book in Italian!) If you could use them, I’ll send ‘em to you, free.
(I also have a bunch of the German audiobooks, on CD. Maybe you know of German-speaking children who own cars with disc-changers! Maybe you don’t speak German but enjoy listening to people speak German and also love physical media! OK, I am realistic about my chances about finding a good home for the audiobooks.)
I’d prefer someone who can take all the German books, and someone else who could take all the Italian books (or maybe there’s one person who could take the whole lot, German and Italian—that would be great). I’ll even sign them before I box them up! If you want the books, please send an email to desk@macbarnett.com.
If you do not want the books, which I imagine is most of the people subscribed to this newsletter, thank you for your patience.
Mac
Achtung! Gluten tag!
I wrote a letter to you once, and you kindly responded. Anyway, I’d love a German and /or Italian book, especially if signed (and feel free to mention firehunds). Thank you!
(PS do you still have that PO Box I used to send you a letter? If so I’d like to send you another. I figured something else out about your books.)

PS My dad told me you’re working on a Rumpelstiltkin book with Carson Ellis and I cannot wait!!
Love your writing. Son loves your writing. But The only thing I can say in German is “the window is jammed.”
